Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about joining and using the EMOTO community.
What is the EMOTO?
The EMOTO is a multi-day off-road competition descended in spirit from the Erzberg Rodeo, run on EMOTO and modern eMoto platforms. The EMOTO community board is the open meeting place for the Trophy team plus a wider community of electric motorcycles, Sur-Ron, Talaria, Light Bee, and adventure enthusiasts.
Is the community open to everyone?
Yes — anyone with an interest in electric motorcycles, Sur-Ron, Talaria, Light Bee, or any eMoto / adventure is welcome. You do not need to own a particular brand of eMoto or eBike to join. New registrations are reviewed by an admin to keep the community clean of spam.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. The community board is completely free. Affiliate links to recommended gear support the running costs of the site at no extra charge to you.
What vehicles are welcome?
All of them — all of them — Sur-Ron Light Bee, Talaria Sting, Cake Kalk, Stark Varg, KTM Freeride E-XC, Zero, plus pedal-assist eBikes (Class 1/2/3) of every brand.
How do I add a trail to the map?
Sign in, navigate to Trails & Routes, and tap "Add Trail." You can add a title, difficulty, terrain, distance, location, GPS coordinates, photos, and a description. Other team members can leave condition reports and add their own trip photos.
Can I sell parts in the marketplace?
Yes. Once approved, you can list parts, accessories, gear, or even adventure-ready vehicles in the Marketplace. Buyers DM you directly through the team board — no platform fees.
How are events organized?
Any approved member can create events — meet-ups, trail runs, races, workshop days. Members RSVP, organizers can send invite emails to the whole team.
How do I get the Competed badge?
After completing an official EMOTO event, claim the badge from your Profile. An admin verifies it and adds the blue checkmark next to your name across the board.
Can I install the site as an app on my phone?
Yes. On iPhone: open in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android: open in Chrome, tap "Install app" when prompted. The app supports push notifications and works full-screen.
Does the site support push notifications?
Yes — for messages, mentions, comments, event RSVPs, and new posts. Tap the Enable banner at the top of the screen, or go to your avatar menu and tap "Enable Notifications."
How is the gear shop curated?
Every product in Shop & Gear is hand-picked by the team based on what we actually run on the trail. Members can also recommend their own picks and write star reviews. Affiliate commissions fund the community.
Is my data safe?
Your account uses an industry-standard bcrypt-hashed password. Email/personal data is never sold or shared. Direct messages are private. Photos and posts you delete are removed from our storage.
How do I become an admin?
Admin roles are assigned by existing admins. If you are running an official event or coordinating a regional chapter, contact an admin via DM and they can promote your account.
Where are you based?
The EMOTO is a community-driven board run by The Compendium Co. Members are global — UK, US, Australia, Europe, South America.
